Mother's DayMother's Day is the Sunday after the Festival Of Water. On this day it's time to let your mother know how much you appreciate her. Give her gifts, do her work for her, show your appreciation. Celebrate motherhood.
Father's DayOn Father's Day take time to let your father know how much you appreciate him. Father's day is celebrated on the same day it is on your calendar in whatever country you live in.
The Week Of SilenceThe Week Of Silence is from January 1-7 This week is a week of oral fasting. It is a time to be quiet, and tune in to what's going on inside of you. It is a time to think about the coming year and what we hope will happen. It is a time to project positive energy into the coming year, in hopes that it will be a happy, healthy and peaceful one. The Week Of Silence is also a time to forgive and forget. Work on letting go of past hurts, make a peace offering to those we may have offended or hurt. Try to start the new year on a positive note. Let go of the past and embrace the future. The Week Of Silence can be a week of total silence for adults who live alone and want to practice it, but for those who have to work and have small children it is impossible to be quiet and silent all the time. During this week, we speak as quietly as possible, remain even tempered and serene. When we speak, we speak quietly and say only positive things. The Week Of Silence is observed by adults only (those 16 and over). Children are never expected to be silent but they can be taught to think before they speak and to only say positive things about others and to others when they do speak.
Remembrance DayRemembrance Day is the day of the dead. Day of the dead is a day off to remember our loved ones who have passed on. It's a time to tell stories about their lives, look at pictures of them and remember their contributions to the community. Wear white on this day. White is the colour of death. Remembrance Day is the Sunday after the Festival Of Earth.
ThanksgivingThanksgiving is a day of giving thanks for the things we have and the people we share our lives with. We must give thanks to our mothers for bringing us into the world and our fathers for helping them do that. We must give thanks for the children we have and give thanks to them for choosing us as parents. We must give thanks to the earth for holding us up in the universe, to the water that gives us life, to the air that keeps us alive and to the fire that energizes our spirit. We must also give thanks to the animals for helping us through the cycle of life.
BirthdaysWe celebrate each other's birthdays. Throw a party, give gifts. Celebrate your birth on Earth. Make resolutions for the coming year. Take the day off work.
